Iris&Romeo is committed to developing formulas with safer ingredients while delivering the highest performance in prestige makeup and skincare.
The United States has no regulation around health and safety standards in personal care products. So each brand self regulates and self proclaims what they consider “clean.” The European Union has banned over 1,400 ingredients it considers unsafe in cosmetic formulations. Iris&Romeo is compliant to the European Union safety standards. Plus, we’ve banned additional ingredients we didn’t feel good about, like chemical sunscreens, which are killing our coral reefs and marine organisms. In fact, beginning in 2021 Hawaii will ban oxybenzone or octinoxate, two chemical sunscreens that are in about 70% of sunscreen products on the market today.
(See our ingredient banned list here). So we are extremely safe. We are completely transparent about our ingredient lists. If there is ever a concern about a specific ingredient we will have the raw material or final product tested by a third party lab and share the results. The clean beauty space is a new and quickly evolving frontier. Raw material manufacturers are responding to customers demand for safer ingredients and many are cleaning up their act. Much is still being determined. We will evolve with it. Our commitment is to constantly review, research, and reassess our ingredient lists as new data becomes available.
All of our products are made without the 10 worst toxic offenders listed below. For our full ingredient banned list see here:
